Tufts Health Plan OTC Catalog: 2026 Allowance, Ordering and 2027 Updates

Updated October 25, 2026

Reviewed October 25, 2026. The Tufts Health Plan OTC catalog lists the over-the-counter items that Tufts Medicare Preferred members can buy with their quarterly OTC allowance. For 2026, only two plans have it: HMO Smart Saver Rx, with $75 a quarter, and PPO RX, with $20 a quarter. You spend it on the Tufts Medicare Preferred HMO and PPO RX OTC Card at participating retailers and plan-approved online stores, using the 2026 Medline catalog to see what’s eligible.

Quick answer: Download the 2026 OTC Benefits Medline Catalog or 2026 OTC Item Catalog from Tufts Medicare Preferred’s OTC benefit page, then shop eligible items with your OTC card. Unused money doesn’t roll over at the end of a calendar quarter. Tufts hadn’t posted 2027 OTC amounts or a 2027 catalog when we checked, so look for your 2027 Annual Notice of Change and the new catalog in January.

Other Tufts Medicare Preferred HMO plans don’t have an OTC allowance; Tufts lists an annual Wellness Allowance of $150 on those plans, or $300 on Smart Saver Rx, instead.

How to use the Tufts OTC catalog

  1. Get the 2026 catalog. Tufts posts two: the 2026 OTC Benefits Medline Catalog and the 2026 OTC Item Catalog. Both are linked from its OTC benefit page.
  2. Pick eligible items. The catalog lists the Medicare-approved OTC items your card can be used for, with item details to help you shop.
  3. Shop with your card. Tufts says the card works at “participating retailers and plan-approved online stores.”
  4. Spend it each quarter. The card reloads at the start of each calendar quarter and “your balance does not carry over.”

For general rules on what OTC benefits cover, see our list of what you can get with an OTC card, and for card basics, our Tufts Health Plan OTC card guide.

What’s not covered

Tufts describes the card as being for Medicare-approved OTC items, so only products in the catalog qualify. If an item isn’t listed, ask Member Services before you buy it. Prescription drugs are covered under your plan’s Part D benefit, not the OTC card.

Tufts Senior Care Options (SCO) card

Tufts Health Plan Senior Care Options, a Dual Eligible Special Needs Plan (D-SNP) for people with MassHealth and Medicare, uses a different card called the Instant Savings card. Tufts’s SCO OTC page lists $115 a quarter for OTC items plus $235 a quarter for food, beverages, personal care items and groceries, with no rollover at the end of a calendar quarter. The page doesn’t state a plan year, so confirm current amounts with SCO Member Services at 1-855-670-5934.

Tufts OTC in 2027

2027 Medicare Advantage plans were published on October 1, 2026, and Open Enrollment runs from October 15 to December 7, 2026. At this review, Tufts Medicare Preferred’s plan documents page listed 2026 files and we couldn’t find 2027 OTC amounts on its site. Mass General Brigham lists Tufts Medicare Preferred as an in-network Medicare Advantage plan for 2027. If you’re a member, your 2027 Annual Notice of Change shows any change to the OTC allowance; the 2026 amounts above apply through December 31, 2026.

When you compare plans for 2027, look at the OTC amount, whether it’s quarterly, whether it rolls over and which stores accept the card. See how to check your OTC card balance and the store guides for CVS, Walgreens and Walmart.
