ACE Medicare Supplement Insurance Review (2027): Plans, Costs and How to Compare

Updated October 20, 2026. ACE Medicare Supplement insurance is Medigap coverage from Chubb. Chubb’s own page says coverage “is underwritten by ACE Property & Casualty Insurance Company, a Chubb company,” and that it is limited insurance designed to cover only expenses Medicare doesn’t cover. Because Medigap benefits are standardized, the real questions about ACE are price, how premiums are rated, rate-increase history and service, which you can check yourself before you buy.
Quick answer: An ACE Plan G or Plan N pays the same benefits as any other company’s Plan G or Plan N. Get an ACE quote for your ZIP code, compare it with other insurers’ prices for the same letter, ask how the premium is rated, and look up ACE Property & Casualty Insurance Company’s current financial rating and complaint record. Existing customers can manage their policy through the ACE Insured Login on Chubb’s site or call 1 800 601-3372.

ACE Medicare Supplement plans: what each letter covers
Medigap plans are standardized by federal rules and identified by letters. Which letters ACE sells varies by state, so confirm availability with a quote. The most common choices:
| Plan | Who it suits | Key point |
|---|---|---|
| Plan G | People who want near-complete coverage | Covers everything Plan F does except the Part B deductible ($283 in 2026; CMS hasn’t published 2027 yet) |
| High-deductible Plan G | People who want a lower premium and can handle a deductible | You pay $3,050 in 2027 ($2,950 in 2026) before the plan pays |
| Plan N | People who want a lower premium and accept some copays | Copays of up to $20 for some office visits and up to $50 for ER visits that don’t lead to admission |
| Plan F | Only people eligible for Medicare before January 1, 2020 | Covers the Part B deductible |

How to review ACE Medicare Supplement before you buy
Online star reviews rarely tell you much about a Medigap insurer, because the benefits are identical by letter. These checks are more useful:
- Price for your age and ZIP code. Get quotes for the same letter from several insurers. See how much Medicare supplement plans cost per month.
- How the premium is rated. Medicare.gov describes three methods: community-rated (same premium regardless of age), issue-age-rated (based on your age when you buy) and attained-age-rated (rises as you age). Ask ACE which one applies in your state.
- Rate-increase history. Your state insurance department may publish Medigap rate filings or comparison guides.
- Financial strength. Look up ACE Property & Casualty Insurance Company’s current rating directly with a rating agency such as AM Best rather than relying on old articles.
- Complaints. The NAIC Consumer Insurance Search shows complaint data by company.
- Discounts. Medicare.gov notes insurers may offer discounts, “like for women, non-smokers, or married people,” and for multiple policies. Ask what ACE offers where you live.
How ACE claims work
Medicare pays its share of a covered service first. Your Medigap insurer then pays its share, and in most cases it gets Part B claim information directly from Medicare, so you don’t file paperwork. Because Medigap has no network, you can see any doctor or hospital in the U.S. that takes Medicare (Medicare SELECT policies are the exception). Policyholders can check claim status in the ACE Insured Login.
When to buy an ACE Medigap policy
The best time is your 6-month Medigap Open Enrollment Period, which starts the month you’re 65 or older and enrolled in Part B. During it, an insurer can’t refuse to sell you any policy it offers or charge more because of your health. Outside that window, ACE can use medical underwriting unless you have a guaranteed-issue right. If you’re leaving a Medicare Advantage plan, read how to switch from Medicare Advantage to Medigap first. Medicare Open Enrollment (October 15 to December 7, 2026) is for Medicare Advantage and Part D changes; it doesn’t give you a guaranteed right to buy Medigap.
