How much is the Sunshine Health OTC benefit?
Sunshine Health’s 2026 OTC catalogs say: “You have $25 per household per month.” The same amount appears in the Pathway to Shine catalog and in the Long-Term Care expanded benefits table (“Up to $25 per household, per month,” all ages).
Two things to know about the “per household” rule:
- If several family members are enrolled with Sunshine Health, the household shares one $25 monthly amount; it isn’t $25 for each person.
- The MMA catalog says items “are for personal use and can only be ordered for the member.” For Pathway to Shine, only legal guardians and adult members can create accounts and place orders.
The July 2026 change
In its June 30, 2026 announcement of new and updated Medicaid benefits, Sunshine Health said that, effective July 1, 2026, “The over-the-counter (OTC) benefit amount was reduced to $25 per month, per household.” Sunshine Health’s announcement doesn’t say what the earlier amount was for each plan, so if you remember a different amount, it may have come from an older plan or catalog. Your current member handbook and catalog show the amount that applies to you.
How to order Sunshine Health OTC products
Sunshine Health’s OTC benefit is run by CVS OTC Health Solutions. You have four ways to use it:
- Online: go to cvs.com/benefits and choose “Shop OTC benefits.” Create an account with your member information.
- Mobile app: download the OTC Health Solutions app to browse items, see your balance and place orders.
- By phone: call 1-888-262-6298 (TTY 711), Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Have your catalog item numbers ready.

Ordering rules
- Orders must be placed by 11:59 p.m. ET on the last day of the month.
- Online and phone orders can’t go over your balance. In stores, you can pay the difference yourself.
- Sunshine Health’s OTC page limits orders to 3 units of each item.
- You can cancel an order within 30 minutes. Returns aren’t accepted.
- Shipping is free. Sunshine Health’s catalog says most orders arrive in less than 5 business days, while its web page says under 7 business days. If an order hasn’t arrived within 14 days, call the OTC line.
What you can buy with Sunshine Health OTC benefits
The catalog lists over-the-counter health products in categories such as pain relief, cold and allergy, vitamins, first aid, oral care and personal health items. Household goods such as toilet paper and cleaning supplies are generally not part of OTC benefits; see can you buy toilet paper with an OTC card for why. Check the current catalog for exact items, since products and prices change.
How to check your Sunshine Health OTC balance
Sign in at cvs.com/benefits or in the OTC Health Solutions app to see your remaining balance for the month, or call 1-888-262-6298 (TTY 711). Because the balance resets each month and doesn’t roll over, check it a few days before the end of the month. For other plans, see our guide to checking your OTC card balance.
Other Sunshine Health expanded benefits
Florida’s Medicaid health plans offer “expanded benefits” beyond the standard Medicaid package. Sunshine Health’s include:
- My Health Pays rewards: members earn rewards for healthy activities, such as a $25 reward for completing the Health Quiz within 60 days of enrolling. Sunshine Health says rewards can help pay for utilities, transportation, telecommunications, childcare, education and rent, or for everyday items at Walmart. They can’t be used for alcohol, tobacco or firearms.
- Grocery benefit (Long-Term Care): $50 per household for members who report food insecurity on the Health Quiz, ages 16 and older, once a year.
- New in 2026: Sunshine Health added benefits on June 1, 2026, including medically tailored meals for members with diabetes or congestive heart failure, home-delivered meals for high-risk pregnancies, baby care bundles and 24/7 lactation support.

Sunshine Health, Wellcare and Medicare: which card do you have?
Sunshine Health is a Centene company, and Centene also sells Medicare Advantage plans in Florida under the Wellcare name, shown on Wellcare’s Florida site as “Wellcare With Sunshine Health.” Those Medicare plans have their own benefits, separate from the Medicaid OTC allowance. Many Wellcare plans use the Wellcare Spendables card, and amounts vary by plan. If you have both Medicare and Medicaid, check which plan sent your card. For 2027 Medicare Advantage amounts, check the plan’s 2027 Summary of Benefits during Open Enrollment, October 15 to December 7, 2026. See our Wellcare Spendables guide.
