Wellcare Spendables Card 2027: Catalog, Food List and How to Order OTC Online
Reviewed October 19, 2026. The Wellcare Spendables card is a preloaded card that Wellcare Medicare Advantage plans use for their OTC allowance. Wellcare describes it as “a preloaded card that gives you the flexibility to pay for eligible health items and services you need to stay healthy.” For 2027, Wellcare says the card can be used for OTC items and qualified dental, vision and hearing expenses, and members who qualify for special supplemental benefits can also use it for approved healthy foods and other eligible costs.
Quick answer: Money loads on your Wellcare Spendables card on the 1st of each month. Shop at participating stores, or order online for home delivery through the member portal or the Wellcare Spendables & Rewards app. The catalog is called the “OTC Highlight” and you download it in the portal. Unused money rolls over month to month but expires at the end of the plan year. Not every Wellcare plan includes Spendables, and the amount varies by plan and county.

Wellcare’s parent company, Centene, announced on October 1, 2026 that 2027 Spendables can cover OTC items and “qualified dental, vision and hearing expenses,” and that members who meet CMS criteria for special supplemental benefits for the chronically ill “may use the Wellcare Spendables® card to access approved healthy foods and other eligible health-related care.” It adds: “Not all members will qualify.” (Centene, October 1, 2026)

The Wellcare Spendables catalog (OTC Highlight)
Wellcare doesn’t publish one national price catalog. Instead, plans with the benefit have an OTC Highlight, which Wellcare calls “a snapshot of top-selling over-the-counter (OTC) items.” Sign in to the member portal, go to My Benefits and choose “Download Catalog.” Both 2026 and 2027 versions are listed for members. Typical eligible OTC items include pain relievers, cold and allergy medicine, first-aid supplies, dental care items such as toothbrushes and toothpaste, and vitamins on the approved list.
How to order Wellcare OTC online
- Activate your card in the member portal at member.wellcare.com (choose “Wellcare Spendables”), in the Wellcare Spendables & Rewards app, or by calling the number on the back of your card. Wellcare’s Spendables page lists 1-833-608-2907 (TTY 711), 24/7.
- Open “Shop Online” in the portal or app.
- Add eligible items and check out. Your card balance pays for approved items.
- Choose home delivery. Wellcare’s 2027 Summaries of Benefits say you can log in “to place an order for home delivery.”

Wellcare Spendables food list
Healthy food is only for members who qualify for special supplemental benefits. Wellcare’s Spendables FAQ lists eligible groceries as “fruits and vegetables, whole grains, meat, seafood, dairy, and foods low in added sugars and sodium,” and says items “must be considered healthy.” (Wellcare Spendables FAQs) The 2027 Summary of Benefits for H7518-003 adds that “prepared meals and produce boxes are available for order via online portal.”
If your plan includes gas at the pump as a special benefit, Wellcare’s FAQ names participating fuel brands such as Shell, BP, Exxon, Chevron, Circle K, Murphy USA, Sunoco and Speedway, and says fuel must be paid for at the pump.

New 2027 federal rules for benefit cards
CMS’s 2027 Medicare Advantage rule codifies requirements for supplemental benefit debit cards. Cards must be “electronically linked to plan-covered items and services through a real-time identification mechanism,” and limited to the specific plan year, and plans must post their SSBCI eligibility rules publicly. (CMS: CY 2027 final rule) In practice, that’s why non-eligible items are declined at the register and why 2026 money doesn’t carry into 2027.
