Aetna Accendo Medicare Supplement: Plans, Phone Numbers and 2027 Status

Updated October 12, 2026

Updated October 12, 2026. Accendo Insurance Company is a CVS Health company that sits inside Aetna Senior Supplemental Insurance, so an “Accendo Medicare Supplement” policy is part of the Aetna Medicare Supplement (Medigap) family. For new 2027 Medigap sales, Aetna’s current product chart lists its Medicare Supplement plans under other Aetna-family insurers (Aetna Health and Life, Aetna Health Insurance, Continental Life or American Continental, depending on the state), and lists Accendo for final expense life insurance. If you already have an Accendo Medigap policy, call Accendo’s policyholder line at 1-866-951-0653 (TTY 711).

Quick answer: Accendo and Aetna Medicare Supplement plans are standardized Medigap policies that work with Original Medicare. Aetna-family insurers sell Plans A, B, F, G and N in many states, with high-deductible Plan F or G in some states. The insurer named on your policy decides which phone number you call. Rates, plan letters and discounts vary by state.

What is Accendo Insurance Company?

Aetna Senior Supplemental Insurance (Aetna SSI), based in Franklin, Tennessee, is the Aetna unit that sells Medicare Supplement, final expense and other senior products. Aetna says Accendo Insurance Company was added to Aetna SSI in 2020 and describes it as “a CVS Health company.” Accendo has offered Medicare Supplement insurance and final expense whole life insurance.

Aetna SSI products can be underwritten by several companies:

That’s why two neighbors who both “have Aetna Medigap” can hold policies from different companies. For background on the parent company, see our article on CVS Health and Accendo Insurance Company.

Is Accendo still selling Medicare Supplement plans for 2027?

Aetna’s agent product availability chart (effective September 4, 2026) lists Accendo only for final expense coverage. New Medicare Supplement policies are listed under Aetna Health and Life, Aetna Health Insurance, Continental Life or American Continental, depending on the state. Aetna hasn’t published a consumer notice about this, so treat it as our reading of the chart and confirm with Aetna or a licensed agent before you apply.

CVS Health’s October 2026 announcement of Aetna’s 2027 Medicare plans still lists “Medicare Supplement and ancillary products” among Aetna’s offerings. We found no official CVS or Aetna statement that it is leaving the Medigap market. Existing Medigap policies are guaranteed renewable, so an Accendo policy stays in force as long as you pay the premium.

Aetna and Accendo Medicare Supplement plans

Medigap plans are standardized by federal law, so Plan G from Aetna covers the same benefits as Plan G from any other insurer. Only the price, the company and its service differ. Aetna’s state brochures list lineups such as Plans A, B, F, high-deductible F, G and N in Texas, and A, B, F, G, high-deductible G and N in Pennsylvania. Aetna’s consumer site doesn’t sell Medigap in Connecticut, Hawaii, Massachusetts, Maine or Washington.

Household discount

Aetna SSI offers a household discount, but the amount depends on the state and the underwriting company. Under Aetna’s eligibility guidelines, you may qualify if you’re married, in a domestic partnership, or have lived at the same address as another adult for 12 months or more. Only one discount applies per household, and policies that took effect before June 1, 2010 don’t qualify. Ask for the discount amount in writing when you get a quote.

When to apply for a Medigap plan

Your best time is your Medigap Open Enrollment Period. Medicare.gov describes it as the 6-month period that starts the first day of the month you’re 65 or older and signed up for Part B. During that window, an insurer can’t turn you down or charge more because of your health. After it ends, insurers can use medical underwriting unless you have a guaranteed issue right, for example when other coverage ends. Those windows are usually 63 days.

Medigap Open Enrollment is different from the annual Medicare Open Enrollment (October 15 to December 7, 2026), which is for Medicare Advantage and Part D changes. Medigap doesn’t include drug coverage, so most people pair it with a Part D plan. See Medicare Open Enrollment and Medicare changes for 2027. If you’re in a Medicare Advantage plan and want to switch, read how to go back to Original Medicare.

Frequently asked questions

Is Accendo the same as Aetna?

Accendo is one of the insurers inside Aetna Senior Supplemental Insurance, and Aetna calls it a CVS Health company. Your policy is issued by Accendo, but service runs through Aetna SSI.

What is the Accendo Medicare Supplement phone number?

Accendo policyholders can call 1-866-951-0653 (TTY 711), Monday to Friday, 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Central time.

Can I still buy Plan F from Aetna?

Only if you were eligible for Medicare before January 1, 2020 and Plan F is sold in your state. Everyone else can look at Plan G or Plan N.

Does an Accendo Medicare Supplement include gym or dental benefits?

Medigap plans cover Medicare cost sharing. Extras such as dental, vision or fitness aren’t part of the standardized benefits. Check your policy and any added rider or discount program in writing.

Do Accendo or Aetna Medigap rates go up?

Premiums can rise because of age, inflation or state-approved rate increases. How a policy is priced (community-, issue-age or attained-age rated) affects future increases, so ask which method your state uses.

Medicare365 is not affiliated with or endorsed by Aetna, Accendo Insurance Company, CVS Health or any U.S. government agency. Plan availability, prices and discounts vary by state; check your policy or the official Aetna site before you decide.
