UnitedHealthcare OTC Card Balance: Phone Number, App and UCard Hub (2027)
Reviewed October 22, 2026. UnitedHealthcare doesn’t publish one national “OTC balance” phone number. To check your UnitedHealthcare OTC card (UCard) balance by phone, call the Member Services number printed on your member ID card (TTY 711); the number depends on your plan. The fastest way is online: UnitedHealthcare says you can check benefit and rewards balances in the UCard Hub on your member site or in the UnitedHealthcare app.
Quick answer: Open the UnitedHealthcare app or sign in to your member site, go to the UCard Hub, and your OTC, healthy food and utilities balances are shown there. By phone, use the Member Services number on your ID card. For 2027, many members get two cards, a member ID card and a separate UCard, so look for the phone number on your member ID card.
Ways to check your UnitedHealthcare OTC balance
| Method | How it works | Best for |
|---|---|---|
| UnitedHealthcare app | Open the UCard Hub in the app to see your balance, use the product scanner and show your digital UCard | Checking in a store before you pay |
| Member site (UCard Hub) | Sign in and visit the UCard Hub to check benefit and rewards balances and find participating stores | Seeing all your credits and shopping online |
| Member Services by phone | Call the number on your member ID card, TTY 711 | If you don’t use the app or website |
UnitedHealthcare’s UCard pages don’t list a separate balance phone number, so we don’t list one either (UHC: member UCard benefits). Be careful with websites that show a “UCard balance number” without a source.
UnitedHealthcare OTC card balance phone number by plan
Member Services numbers are plan-specific. Here are examples from UnitedHealthcare’s own 2027 plan pages, checked October 22, 2026:
| Plan | Member Services number on UHC’s plan page | Hours |
|---|---|---|
| UHC Dual Complete TX-Y1 (HMO-POS D-SNP), Texas | 1-866-944-4983, TTY 711 | 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. local time, 7 days a week October to March; Monday to Friday April to September |
| UHC Dual Complete TX-S001 (Regional PPO D-SNP), Texas | 1-855-245-5196, TTY 711 | Same as above |
| UHC Dual Complete TX-S4 (HMO-POS D-SNP), Texas | 1-855-245-5196, TTY 711 | Same as above |

If your plan isn’t listed, the right number is on the back of your member ID card and in your Evidence of Coverage. Your UCard balance is managed by your UnitedHealthcare plan, not by Medicare, so call your plan rather than 1-800-MEDICARE.
How to check your UCard balance in the UnitedHealthcare app
- Download the UnitedHealthcare app and sign in with your member account (or register with the information on your ID card).
- Open the UCard Hub.
- View your balance for each benefit, such as OTC, healthy food or utilities, plus any earned rewards.
- Use the product scanner to check whether an item is covered before you reach the register.
UnitedHealthcare describes the app as the place to “check your balance, use the product scanner, shop with your digital UCard and more” (UHC: food, OTC and utility bill credit).
How to check your balance online
Sign in to your UnitedHealthcare member site and select the UCard Hub. UnitedHealthcare says the Hub lets you check your balance, find participating stores and shop online. If you can’t sign in, our OTC benefits login guide explains common sign-in problems.
Activating your UCard
If your balance shows $0 or the card is declined, check that the card is active. UnitedHealthcare says you can activate it online at activate.uhc.com or in the UnitedHealthcare app.
What’s new for 2027
- Two cards: UnitedHealthcare says that “starting in 2027, your membership will come with 2 easy-to-use cards,” a member ID card and a UCard. Members of certain group Medicare Advantage plans keep the UCard as their member ID (UHC: UCard).
- Food and utilities verification: for 2027, verification of a qualifying chronic condition and more complex health needs is required before you can use credits for healthy food and utilities. If you change carriers, you’ll need to be verified again.
- New amounts: credits can change each January. For example, UnitedHealthcare’s TX-S001 plan page lists a $27 monthly credit for 2027, down from $37 in 2026. Check your Annual Notice of Change.
How UCard credits load and expire
UnitedHealthcare says credits load monthly or quarterly, depending on your benefit:
| Benefit type | How often credits load |
|---|---|
| OTC only | Quarterly |
| OTC and healthy food | Monthly |
| OTC, healthy food and utilities | Monthly |
UnitedHealthcare also says OTC, food, utility and wellness benefits “have expiration timeframes,” so check your balance before each period ends. Your Evidence of Coverage has your plan’s exact rules. The card can’t be used for cash or at ATMs.
Why your balance might look wrong
- A new period hasn’t started yet. Credits load on a set schedule, so a new month’s or quarter’s money appears only when that period begins.
- Your old credits expired. Unused money doesn’t stay on the card forever.
- You’re looking at the wrong benefit. OTC, food and utilities can be separate amounts.
- You haven’t been verified for food or utilities. For 2027, those credits need verification first.
Where to use your UCard
UnitedHealthcare says the UCard works at more than 70,000 participating stores nationwide, including Walmart, Walgreens, Dollar General and Target, and online through the UCard Hub. Tips to use your balance before it expires
- Set a reminder a week before each period ends, and check the UCard Hub then.
- Scan before you shop. The app’s product scanner tells you whether an item is covered, so you don’t end up paying out of pocket at the register.
- Split payments if needed. If your purchase is more than your balance, pay the rest with another accepted payment method.
- Keep your cards apart in 2027. Use your member ID card at the doctor’s office and pharmacy, and your UCard for OTC and other credits.
- Protect your card. Don’t share your card number or member ID with callers you didn’t contact yourself. If your UCard is lost or stolen, call Member Services right away.
