Humana OTC Card and Catalog: Benefits, Balance and How to Order
Reviewed October 5, 2026. The Humana OTC card is the Humana Spending Account Card, which some Humana Medicare Advantage plans load with a monthly or quarterly over-the-counter (OTC) allowance. You can use it at participating stores, or spend your allowance through CenterWell Pharmacy’s online OTC store, app or mail-order catalog, on items like vitamins, pain relievers, dental products, first-aid supplies and bladder control pads. Humana says to check your balance by calling the number on the back of the card.
Quick answer: Not every Humana plan includes an OTC allowance, and amounts vary by plan. Whether unused money rolls over depends on your plan: with rollover it carries to the next period and expires December 31; without it, it expires at the end of each month or quarter. Humana Healthy Horizons Medicaid plans in some states have their own OTC catalogs.

What you can buy with your Humana OTC allowance
Humana lists these categories of eligible items:
- Vitamins and minerals
- Over-the-counter medicines, such as pain relievers and cough drops
- Dental products, such as toothbrushes, toothpaste and denture cream
- Personal care items, such as cleansing wipes and bladder control pads
- First-aid supplies
- Stomach remedies
Prescription drugs, groceries (unless your plan has a separate food benefit), alcohol, tobacco and cosmetics generally aren’t covered by an OTC allowance. Your plan’s catalog is the final word on what’s eligible.
The Humana OTC catalog
Humana publishes OTC health and wellness catalogs each year, and many are plan- or state-specific. You can download the catalog from Humana’s OTC page or ask for one by mail. To order from the catalog through CenterWell Pharmacy:
- Online: sign in at account.centerwellpharmacy.com and shop the OTC store.
- App: use the CenterWell Pharmacy app for iPhone or Android.
- Mail: send the catalog order form to CenterWell Pharmacy, P.O. Box 1197, Cincinnati, OH 45201-1197.
- Fax: 800-379-7617.
Orders are deducted from your allowance for the current period, so place them before your balance resets.
Using the Humana Spending Account Card in stores
Members with the OTC allowance get a Humana Spending Account Card for “participating network retailers including brick-and-mortar retail locations.” Use Humana’s retailer finder to see which stores near you participate before you go. Many people search for whether the card works at Walmart or for a “Humana Walmart catalog”; participating stores can differ by area and change over time, so the retailer finder is the reliable answer. At checkout, eligible items are paid from your allowance and anything else needs another payment method.
How to check your Humana OTC balance

Humana Healthy Horizons (Medicaid) OTC benefits
Humana’s Medicaid plans, called Humana Healthy Horizons, publish separate health and wellness catalogs in some states. Humana has posted 2026 catalogs for Humana Healthy Horizons in Louisiana and South Carolina and for Virginia’s Cardinal Care program, for example. Medicaid OTC benefits are set by each state contract, so the amounts, ordering rules and item lists differ from Humana’s Medicare plans. Check your state plan’s member handbook or call the Member Services number on your Medicaid ID card.
Other Humana allowances
Some Humana plans also offer a Healthy Options or food allowance for eligible members, which may be loaded to the same card. See our guides to the Humana food card and how the Humana grocery allowance works.
Choosing a Humana plan for 2027
OTC amounts and rollover rules can change every January. If you’re comparing plans during Medicare Open Enrollment (October 15 to December 7, 2026), check the OTC line in each plan’s Summary of Benefits, but put doctors, drugs and the out-of-pocket maximum first.
