HealthSpring OTC Catalog 2027: Allowance, Flex Card and How to Order
Updated October 12, 2026. The HealthSpring OTC benefit gives eligible Medicare Advantage members a quarterly allowance on the HealthSpring Flex card to buy over-the-counter health items from the OTC catalog, online at HealthSpringFlex.com, by phone or in participating stores. For 2027, HealthSpring’s Summaries of Benefits keep the quarterly loading and no-rollover rule, but some plans have smaller allowances. For example, HealthSpring Preferred (HMO) H4513-077-001 in Alabama drops from $75 to $30 a quarter.
Quick answer: HealthSpring (formerly Cigna’s Medicare Advantage business, now owned by Health Care Service Corporation) loads OTC money each quarter: January to March, April to June, July to September and October to December. Unused money doesn’t roll over. Order from the catalog at HealthSpringFlex.com or call 1-866-851-1579 (TTY 711). Allowances vary by plan and county, and some 2027 plans have no general OTC allowance.

How the HealthSpring OTC benefit works
- Card: Your allowance loads onto the HealthSpring Flex card. The card has no PIN and gives no cash back.
- Schedule: Money loads at the start of each quarter.
- Rollover: Unused money doesn’t carry over to the next quarter or the next year.
- Program administrator: The 2026 OTC booklet names Convey. The 2027 Summary of Benefits doesn’t name a vendor.
- Eligible items: Only items in the OTC catalog or approved at checkout.
Some HealthSpring plans also load rewards or grocery money on the same Flex card. That’s covered in our HealthSpring Flex card guide.
HealthSpring OTC catalog: what you can buy
The OTC catalog lists approved items by category. Medicare OTC catalogs typically include categories such as these (check your plan’s catalog for the exact list):
- Pain relievers, cold and allergy medicine
- Vitamins and supplements
- First aid supplies and bandages
- Dental care such as toothpaste and denture care
- Personal care and incontinence supplies
- Home health items such as thermometers and blood pressure monitors
Use the catalog for your plan year. The 2026 booklet is on healthspring.com; check HealthSpringFlex.com for the current item list. Not sure how OTC cards work in general? Read Medicare OTC cards explained.
