If you were moved from Wellpoint DC

  1. Your coverage continued without a gap. You were assigned to AmeriHealth Caritas DC effective August 1, 2026.
  2. A transition period ran from August 1 to October 31, 2026, to help members keep seeing their providers while they switched.
  3. Check your doctors. Make sure your primary care provider and specialists are in AmeriHealth Caritas DC’s network.
  4. You can still choose MedStar Family Choice DC until January 31, 2027, through the DC Healthy Families enrollment broker at dchealthyfamilies.com.
  5. Use your new ID card at every visit and pharmacy.
