Updated October 12, 2026. Humana Medicare Advantage plans for 2027 are available in about 2,600 counties across 45 states and Washington, D.C., according to Humana’s October 1, 2026 announcement. Humana says it is keeping $0 or low-premium plans, $0 in-network primary care copays and $0 copays on hundreds of drugs in eligible plans, and adding $0 in-network routine lab services for 2027. You can join or switch during Medicare Open Enrollment, October 15 to December 7, 2026, for coverage starting January 1, 2027.

Quick answer: A Humana Medicare Advantage plan (Part C) replaces how you get Original Medicare. It covers hospital and medical care, usually Part D drugs, and extras such as dental, vision and hearing. In 2027, 95% of Humana Medicare Advantage members are in plans rated 4 stars or higher, Humana says. What’s new in Humana Medicare Advantage for 2027

Humana’s 2027 announcement lists these highlights:

Chronic Condition Special Needs Plans (C-SNPs) expanding into Pennsylvania, Utah and Wisconsin

Humana didn’t publish a list of counties it’s leaving. If you’re a current member, your 2027 Annual Notice of Change (ANOC), mailed by the end of September, says whether your plan continues and what changes on January 1. Read it before December 7.

Example: Humana USAA Honor Giveback (PPO) H7617-108 has a $0 monthly plan premium for 2027 and a Part B premium reduction of up to $182 a month in select Florida counties, according to its 2027 Summary of Benefits. Humana 2027 star ratings

CMS released the 2027 Medicare Star Ratings in October 2026. Humana reports that:

95% of its Medicare Advantage members are in plans rated 4 stars or higher
42% are in 4.5-star plans
6 contracts earned 4.5 stars and 12 earned 4 stars, 11 more 4-star-plus contracts than the year before
Its stand-alone Part D contract (S5884) earned 4.5 stars

Extra benefits: OTC, food, dental and drugs

Many Humana plans include extras beyond Original Medicare, but amounts vary by plan and county. Before you enroll, look for these lines in the 2027 Summary of Benefits:

Under CMS’s 2027 rules, debit-card benefits must be limited to the plan year, so unused allowances generally don’t carry into the next year.

Humana Medicare Advantage vs. a Medicare Supplement

Some people call Medicare Advantage a “Medicare replacement” plan because it replaces how you get Parts A and B. A Medicare Supplement (Medigap) works the other way: you keep Original Medicare and the supplement pays some of your share.

Is Humana Medicare Advantage the same as Medicare?

No. Humana is a private insurer approved by Medicare. You still have Medicare, but Humana’s plan pays for your Part A and B services and follows its own network and cost rules.

Are there $0 premium Humana Advantage plans in 2027?

Humana says it offers $0 or low monthly premium plans for 2027. Whether a $0 plan is available depends on your county. You still pay your Part B premium unless you qualify for help such as a Medicare Savings Program.
